JOHANNES
SCHMIDT
CINEMATOGRAPHER
based in Wiesbaden, Deutschland
Johannes grew up on rural football fields and with VHS cassettes in front of the 90s tube tv. He gained his first experience in analogue photography and 8 mm film during his school days. After graduating from high school, he decided to pursue his passion with a Bachelor of Arts degree in "Motion Pictures". During his studies he gained experience as a camera assistant and lighting technician in a film equipment rental company and in various productions. At the same time, he created his own camera work in advertising, short film and music videos.
In the past Johannes lensed some award-winning work and he won the Young Director Award, Golden Award of Montreux or the New York Festival. Nowadays he loves more than ever to combine his passion for sports and moving images in visually strong films.
